The Asus Eee Slate EP121 provides the ultimate in tablet size entertainment, productivity and wireless connectivity – anywhere. It has a crisp clear high definition screen that allows the user to navigate seamlessly across its 12.1” pressure-sensitive backlit LED HD display with “multi-touch.”

Many of the individuals leaving Asus Eee Slate reviews are captivated by its Intel Core i5 – 470UM processor that has Intel HD Graphics, which provides energy-efficient multi-tasking performance along with a 1080p HD play back. It has a 32 GB Solid-State drive and Flash10.1 support that provides video playback support typically needed for most popular websites.

Optimizing the Windows 7 Experience

Standing apart from most of its competition, the Asus Eee Slate runs on Windows 7 Home Premium to provide the ultimate notebook or desktop functioning capability experience, on a tablet. With its Windows 7 OS, users will have an accelerated start up speed using FastBoot Technology, and can create the convenient home network to share videos, music and photos. By adjusting the settings for enhanced power management for longer battery life, Windows 7 can keep the ASUS Tablet away from the plug longer, before needing a recharge.

With its vibrant LED-Backlit 12.1 Inch HD Display (at 1280 x 800 resolution), the tablet will provide more colorful, crisp visuals to the screen. It supports all e-reader programs, such as Amazon’s Kindle, and makes full benefit of its Flash 10.1 play-back to display most video experiences on virtually any website. Using Windows 7, the user can connect directly to the cloud or to Xbox Live, Mac and PCs, or virtually any other compatible device.

Why I Chose to Buy Asus Eee Slate EP121 over the Apple iPad 2

As a businessperson on the go, I recently had to buy an Asus Eee Slate EP121 to take with me on the road. It is so much easier than lugging around a notebook, yet big enough and powerful enough to do all of the essential computing I need to do when I am away from the office. Most of all, I need the best Windows 7 operating system tablet I can get, which led me directly to the Eee Slate.

What Do I Use It For?

I am an animator by trade, and I travel from one coast to the other nearly every week assisting the up-and-coming animators in my company. In my field, a notebook or laptop can be handy, but a tablet allows me the freedom I need to animate directly on the screen. My company suggested that I review different tablets to figure out which one would be best for me. I had to decide whether to buy an Asus Eee Slate EP121 or the Apple iPad 2. Doing a direct comparison between the two, the Asus easily won out.

Features of the Eee Slate

Once I made the decision to buy the Asus Eee Slate EP121, it arrived a few days later, and I put it to the real test through the eyes of an animator. In the old days, I would have to take my laptop with me, along with my Wacom Cintiq, everywhere I went to work on my animation in front of my assistants. The Eee Slate eliminates the need of pulling out my Wacom, as the tablet screen works just as well when using the digitizer pen that came with the tablet.

Because it has a Windows 7 home premium operating system, it easily tackles any animation I need to do with my software applications. My tablet holds Photoshop, Painter, Artrage, Zbrush, Maya, Flash, Illustrator, and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. They all work fantastically on the tablet, though I have upgraded the 2GB version to a 4GB.

Are There Any Downsides?

The Slate has an incredible touch sensitive screen, though when I am animating I generally turn it off, because Windows 7 struggles with “palm rejection,” meaning the operating system cannot separate my hand resting on the screen from the digitizer pen. However, this is a minor inconvenience to such a powerful and effective tablet for animating.

Reasons Others Decided To Buy An Asus Eee Slate EP121

If you are considering whether or not to buy an Asus Eee Slate EP121, I would say at least give it a try. You be very amazed at how well it works, how fast it boots up, and all the programs it can carry, along with its ability to tackle heavy-duty computer processing at lightning fast speeds. Because I work as an animator, it took me no time at all to get the hang of using the tablet over a notebook with the connected Wacom.

“This is an incredible piece of hardware. Light, beautiful, stylish. The screen is responsive. I love it!” – Bart, Amazon.com

“This works as a “total solution” for me. It enables me to take written client notes during sessions and stream video courses.”– A Z, Amazon.com

Are They Hard To Find?

For any individuals on the go, who simply want a powerful computer that is both convenient to use and small enough to travel, I highly recommend making the decision to buy the Asus Eee Slate EP121. Though it can be readily found in most high quality electronics stores, I suggest purchasing a directly from the company’s official website.
